I just participated with the West Coast Swing International Rally Flash Mob here in Fort Worth, Texas. September 7, 2019 was the day!

For weeks the participants from two ballroom dance schools practiced the steps. Gina Crisanti, who teaches ballroom dancing at the Amon Carter Fort Worth Downtown YMCA, took us from A to Z choreography steps for the dance. Another group at the Dancemakers of Texas with dance instructors Augie Lejia, Samantha Brown and Julie Nix also were in on the project with some of their students.

In this video, Gina was demonstrating the steps for the women. When you look for a dance instructor, it helps a lot when he or she can demonstrate both the men and women steps like Gina does. It is a skill that not everyone has. For sure I can’t dance my partner’s steps, just my own steps! Focusing on even my own steps is often very challenging.

Gina is a very patient teacher. She works with you until you master those steps. In dancing, patience is very important.
